Kent M. Huffty

Kent M. Huffty died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010, at the Regency Hospital in Jackson. He was 74.
Born in Oak Grove, La., Mr. Huffty had lived in Vicksburg since 1962. He retired as a supervisor at River Transportation Co. and was formerly employed for nine years at Oak Park Bestway. He was a member of Warrenton Independent Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Frank and Mary Guin Huffty; four brothers, Hardiman Huffty, Malcolm Huffty, Howard Huffty and Loudan Huffty; a sister, Doris Cerio; and a great-grandson, Joshua Huffty.
He is survived by his wife, Clara Huffty of Vicksburg; two sons, Mitchell Huffty of Crystal Springs and Ricky Huffty of Oak Grove; two daughters, Brenda Huffty of Vicksburg and Judy Parker of Raymond; two brothers, Seth Huffty of Kilbourne, La., and Stanford Huffty of Calhoun, La.; and nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Warrenton Independent Baptist Church with the Revs. Marvin Curtis and Scotty Dodson officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Thursday at Glenwood Funeral Home and Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until the service.
Pallbearers will be Jonathon Curtis, Scott Audirsch, Charles Jordan, Charles Houston, Blake Carroll, Jeremy Carroll, Conner Matthews and Michael Jones.
Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Warrenton Independent Baptist Church.
