Tiaria Griffin shredded Vicksburg’s defense for 26 points, and Lawrence County (11-4) made Vicksburg’s day miserable with a lopsided victory at the Mendenhall Tournament.

Donyeah Mayfield finished with 16 points and 17 rebounds, and Shanequa Hill scored nine points for Vicksburg (6-5), but most of it was in a fruitless effort.

The Missy Gators committed 10 turnovers in the first quarter and scored only 13 points in the first half while falling behind by 20 at the break. They went 15-for-48 from the field (31.3 percent) for the game, but even that lowly shooting percentage was boosted by a fourth quarter played mostly against Lawrence County’s reserves.
