Crews from IMPLO, a contractor hired by Entergy, on Wednesday set off the first of about 20 booming implosions slated over the next few weeks. The implosions seal lines of frayed wiring, Entergy officials have said. Tthe smoke from the boom that sounds much like a 12-gauge shotgun blast escapes at Old Highway 27 and Mississippi 27. The device also will be used at Entergy’s Waterways substation at Wisconsin Avenue and Bazinsky Road. The line provides power to about 12,000 Entergy customers served by substations in Vicksburg, Edwards, Bolton and Clinton.
