Services for Nathaniel “Nate” Brown will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home Home with the Rev. Casey Fisher officiating.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Brown; two children, Nathaniel Brown Jr. and NaTisha Brown; two sisters, Rosa Lee Brown and Annie Mae Brown Lane; three brothers, William Brown, Walter Brown and Willie Brown; and a stepson, Karl Slaughter.

Survivors include his wife, Eula S. Brown of Vicksburg; a son, Frederick C. Russell Sr. of Flint, Mich.; five stepchildren, Patricia S. Parker, Belinda S. Parker and Michael Parker, all of Atlanta, Gregory Slaughter of Birmingham, Ala., and Stephanie D. Slaughter of Vicksburg; a sister, Christine Townsend of Birmingham; four brothers, Charles Brown, David Brown, Robert Greer and Lawrence Greer, all of Chicago; grandchildren and great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends, including Willie Taylor and members of the Brown, Lane, Greer, Slaughter and Williams families.

Mr. Brown died Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, at his home. He was 73.

He worked at Anderson-Tully and retired from Ergon Refinery. He served in the U.S. Army for two years.
