PORT GIBSON — LaParis Andell Hedrick died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2011, in Jefferson County as the result of a horsing accident. He was 23.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Olevia Hedrick; and his grandfathers, Richard Hedrick, Eli Sayles and Louis Armstrong Jr.

Survivors include his mother, Jennifer Armstrong of Port Gibson; his father, George Sayles of Port Gibson; two brothers, George Hedrick and Quinton Hedrick, both of Port Gibson; a sister, Shanequa Armstrong of Port Gibson; two stepsisters, Kirsten Alexander and Veronica Alexander, both of Port Gibson; grandmothers, Willie B. Sayles and Mary V. Armstrong, both of Port Gibson; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Rose Hill Christian Church in Russum with the Rev. Walter Chambers officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be today from 1 until 6 at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel and Saturday at the church from noon until the service.
