KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Elizabeth Andress Ackerman left us to be with the Lord on Oct. 27, 2011. Her life of 91 years was blessed with many honors in high school and college including being chosen Miss MSCW, the class of 1941.

She was an outstanding athlete and taught physical education at All Saints’ Episcopal School, Warren Central and Amory High School in the 1950s and 1960s.

She would want to be remembered for her service to Jesus. She and her husband, Cliff, served on the mission field in New Mexico through the Methodist Church to the Southwest Indians.

She has resided at Good Samaritan Village since 2003, where her thoughtful acts of kindness were appreciated by so many.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Cliff Ackerman; her son, Bill Ackerman (Joy), Orlando, Fla.; her daughter, Carolyn Pierce (Bruce), Wichita, Kan.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Only one life will soon be past — only what is done for Christ will last.
