PORT GIBSON — Ellen Thomas died Monday, May 21, 2012, at her home in Port Gibson. She was 93.

Mrs. Thomas was a member and mother at Ashland M.B. Church, where she was a former choir member and choir secretary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Thomas Sr.; two daughters, Margaret Walker and Stella Thomas; her parents, Tommie and Willie A. Ham; and three sisters, Julie M. Ward, Elizabeth Benjamin and Ossie Jeffries.

Survivors include four sons, Tommie Thomas and Carl L. Thomas, both of Port Gibson, Willie L. Thomas of Jackson and Richard Thomas Jr. of Buffalo, N.Y.; five daughters, Ellen Ravenell and Rosie Thomas-Walker, both of Buffalo, Annie Thomas-White of Louise, Mary Doss of Brandon and Carolyn Thomas of Port Gibson; three stepsisters, Tommie Lee Logwood, Josephine Hall and Lillie Bell Long, all of Milwaukee, Wis.; four stepbrothers, Joe Hall, Eddie Hall and Fredrick Hall, all of Milwaukee, and Charles Ham of California; 19 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Ashland M.B. Church with the Rev. Richard Cruel officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. Saturday at Thompson Funeral Home of Port Gibson and Sunday at the church from noon until the service.
