Blame the Democrats

I think Mr. Allred’s letter to the editor was well-written and factual. However, I would like to add a couple of more points.

Every speech that President Barack Obama makes, he blames President George W. Bush’s policies as the cause of the financial meltdown. If you recall, the Democrats took control of both houses of Congress in 2006, six years ago, and two years before President Bush left office. Sen. Christopher Dodd, D-Conn., was the head of the banking committee in the Senate, and Democratic Rep. Barney Frank of Massachusetts was head of the banking committee in the House. They urged, if not forced, lending institutions to make 100 percent home loans to people who had no business owning homes. That was the main cause of the financial meltdown and was Democrat policy, not President Bush’s.

Also, I don’t recall hearing so much talk about a candidate’s wealth as the Democrats have about Mitt Romney’s. John Kennedy and John Kerry were both probably richer than Romney, but it was not an issue. Kennedy got his the easy way — he was born into it. Kerry got his the hard way — he married into it. Romney got his the old-fashioned way — he worked for it.

Michelle Obama said when her husband was nominated, that it was the first time in her life that she was proud of her country. This is the first time in my life that I am scared for my country due to Obama’s policies. Obama can’t stand capitalism, ignores the Constitution and is trying to make this country socialist. The chief justice of the Supreme Court said, in so many words, that the court cannot protect us from politicians, we have to vote them out.

If you love your country and want to continue to have the freedom that we enjoy, vote Romney-Ryan in November.
