Joseph Kyle McCaskill died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012, at his home. He was 52.

Mr. McCaskill was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg and a 1979 graduate of Warren Central High School. He was a former member of the Marine Corps Reserve and was an employee of the City of Vicksburg. He was of the Methodist faith.

He was preceded in death by his father, John R. McCaskill; his maternal grandparents, Ailene and Pete Skinner; and his paternal grandparents, Mack and Sally McCaskill.

Survivors include his wife, Diane Shirk McCaskill of Humble, Texas; his mother, Ella Mae Skinner McCaskill of Vicksburg; two sisters, Anne Townsend Southern of Prairieville, La., and Gail Townsend Johnson of Port Gibson; four brothers, James A. Townsend of New Bern, N.C., Anthony Townsend of Mont Belieu, Texas, and John R. McCaskill Jr. and Mack Moore McCaskill, both of Vicksburg; and aunts, nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Greg Clemts officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Friday until service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Sammie Raney, Larry Oaks, Mark Daniels, Joey Hearn, Sam Landers and Charles Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be employees of the City of Vicksburg.
