J.D. Sr. and Mary Woods will celebrate their 50th anniversary on Thursday. They were married Oct. 11, 1962, in Monroe, La.

They are the parents of Cathy Roton, John Woods Jr., Richard Woods, Steve Woods and the late Charles Woods. They also have nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The Woodses will renew their vows and be honored with a reception at 2 p.m. Oct. 13, 2012, at First United Pentecostal Church, 6541 Paxton Road. All relatives and friends are invited to attend. No in-town invitations are being sent.
