Entries sought for annual Christmas parade, Dec. 1

Nov. 19 is the deadline to sign up for the 10th annual Main Street Christmas Parade of Lights on Dec. 1, and officials are hoping to have about 75 participants.
About 20 organizations have applied.
“We’re hoping to have about 75 entries,” Main Street Executive Director Kim Hopkins said.
The fee is $20 for non-profit organizations and $40 for businesses that sign up by Nov. 19. The cost doubles after Nov. 19.
Entry forms are available at Main Street offices on the third floor of the Yazoo & Mississippi Valley Railroad Depot on Levee Street, or by visiting downtownvicksburg.org, or calling Main Street at 601-634-4527.
The Washington Street parade will start at 5 p.m. at Belmont and roll north to Jackson Street.
The grand marshal will be retired Vicksburg National Military Park historian Terry Winschel.
Awards will be presented for best in show, best business, best nonprofit, best theme, most original, most enthusiastic and most creative entries.
