LEXINGTON — James L. Barrett died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at University Hospital-Lexington. He was 76.

Mr. Barrett was born April 5, 1936, in Yazoo County to Dewitt and Ellen McClusky Barrett. He was a retired truck driver and was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by a son, Troy Barrett; three brothers and one sister.

Survivors include a son, Wayne Barrett of Marion, Ark.; two brothers, Paul Barrett and Jessie Barrett, both of Vicksburg; four sisters, Retha Tanner and Mary Stokes, both of Vicksburg, and Dorothy Barrett and Bertha Crist, both of Las Vegas; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Stricklin-King Funeral Home in Yazoo City with the Rev. John Busby officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday from 10 a.m. until the service.
