Edith Christenberry Miles

Edith Christenberry Miles died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at her home. She was 68.
Mrs. Miles was born in Rolling Fork and moved to Vicksburg in 1945. She was married April 6, 1978, and had been married for 34 years. A homemaker, she was of the Baptist faith.
She had a passion for singing and playing the guitar. She attended Culkin Academy. Being a wife, mother and grandmother is what she loved most in life.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dennis “Chris” Christenberry; her mother, Katie Christenberry; her daughter, Victoria Katie Marie Jones; and her father-in-law, Lester Miles Sr.
Survivors include her husband, John Miles of Vicksburg; three daughters, Maria “Laney” Miles Jones (Chris), Lisa “Sissy” Miles (Jonathan White) and Brandy Jones (Mark), all of Vicksburg; her mother-in-law, Cora Miles of Rolling Fork; two sisters, Nancy Morris (Jerry Doug) of Vicksburg and Hazel Hendrix (Bill) of Dothan, Ala.; eight grandchildren, Victoria and John David Jones, Ryan, Rhae Ann and Robert Height, and Hannah, Austin and Corey Moore; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Glenwood Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lester Miles Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Saturday from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service.
Pallbearers will be Mark Jones, Dale Jones, Ellis Height, Bobby Hollingsworth, Marty Comans, Bruce Jared Miles, Ricky Harrigill and David Morris.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Robert Ford, Dr. Martin Newcomb, Doug Miles, Jerry Doug Morris and the staff of Camellia Home Health.
