Hernando Hicks Sr. died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at his home. He was 77.

Mr. Hicks had worked as a machinist for General Motors Corporation and Sperry Vickers Corporation in Chicago. He was a member of Bar Ridge M.B. Church, where he was a trustee.
