MEMPHIS — Jimmie Neal Jr. died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis. He was 69.

A native of Vicksburg, he was a retired employee of the Hershey Co. in Memphis and was a member of Cummings Street Baptist Church, where he was in the greeters ministry.

Survivors include his wife, Betty J. Neal; daughter, Jennifer Hart; three sons, Vincent Thornton, Perry Thornton and Darrell Neal; four sisters, Shirley Mollett, Zelmarie Neal, Victoria Thomas and Avion Lee; two brothers, Phillip Neal and Dwight Neal; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild, and nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

Services are 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at Cummings Street Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Memorial Park South Woods under the direction of Harrison’s Funeral Home Inc. of Memphis.
