A Vicksburg man accused of killing a 70-year-old relative Sunday was issued a $450,000 bond Monday in Municipal Court.
Caleb Erves, no age available, of Walnut Street, was in a dispute with Emanuel Erves shortly after midnight Sunday and pushed him down the stairs of a boarding house, Vicksburg police Lt. Sandra Williams said.
Caleb Erves was arrested at his residence on Walnut Street about 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
Vicksburg Community Court Judge Toni Terrett issued the bond.
Warren County Coroner Doug Huskey said trauma from the fall killed the elder Erves.
“We think he had a broken neck,” he said.
Huskey said a full autopsy was expected to be complete Monday.
Erves was being held at the Issaquena County Correctional Facility this morning.
