A teen accused of shooting a 16-year-old earlier this month of South Street is being charged as an adult.

Larry Johnson, 17, was certified as an adult Tuesday by Warren County Judge Johnny Price, whose position has jurisdiction over Youth Court, Vicksburg police Lt. Sandra Williams said.

Johnson was charged with aggravated assault in connection with a March 1 shooting in the 1300 block of South Street during which a 16-year-old was wounded, she said.

Municipal Judge Toni Terrett set Johnson’s bail at $50,000, and he was held in the Warren County Jail this morning.
