Ronald W. Williams died Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at his residence. He was 66.
Born in Vicksburg, he was the son of the late Aubrey Willie Williams and Margie Marie Conrad Williams.
Mr. Williams was a graduate of Jett High School in the class of 1965, later serving in the Navy on the USS Cone in the Mediterranean. He was employed by LeTourneau as a shipping clerk for 38 years, retiring in 2011.
He was a beloved husband, daddy and pawpaw. Mr. Williams was an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing, and was a skilled guitarist. He was a member of Wayside Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Carrie “Lizzy” Williams of Vicksburg; daughter, Jessica Lowery (Cayce) of Vicksburg; son, Ramey Williams (Mary) of Vicksburg; four grandchildren, Seth Williams, Scott Lowery, Hailey Williams and Luke Lowery; four brothers, Gene Williams (Karen), Mickey Williams (Martha), David Williams (Zita), and Randy Williams (Debbie); and a brother-in-law, Freddie Shirley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Peggy Shirley.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, March 21, 2014, at Riles Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Higginbotham officiating. Burial will be at Wayside Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Riles Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to charities of choice.
Pallbearers will be Billy Gene Wright, Stanley Mullins, Jason Shelton, Larry Purvis, James Hampton, Johnny Lowery, Greg Landers and Carl “Duck” Emerson.
