Valerie Otis died Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at Regency Hospital in Jackson. She was 53.
Mrs. Otis was born in Chicago.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kevin Otis; mother, Altee Linson; father, Ernest Linson; and a sister, Darlene Carson Tobias.
Survivors include a sister, Diane Linson; two aunts; three nieces; three nephews; and great-nieces, nephews and cousins.
A spreading of the ashes ceremony will be 2 p.m. today at City Front Park on Levee Street, followed by a repast at 1604 Court St.
