St. Aloysius routs Yazoo City

St. Aloysius tuned up for its division opener with an impressive victory.

The Lady Flashes belted out six extra-base hits, and Avery Parman threw a complete-game shutout, in a 9-0 rout of Yazoo County on Tuesday.

Parman struck out seven and scattered three hits in the win. She was backed by an offense that scored five runs in the first inning and four more in the third.

Perry Gillis was 2-for-2 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored, and Sara Hudson went 2-for-2 with a double, RBI, and a run scored.

Brooklyn Richards added an RBI triple, while Jordan McDonald and Madison Heggins each had an RBI double.

St. Al (6-5) will play its first division game Thursday at Bogue Chitto.

 

Cleveland 3, VHS 2

Cleveland scored a run in the top of the seventh inning, and Vicksburg (6-8) left two runners on in the bottom half as it took its second one-run loss in three games.

The Missy Gators were coming off an 8-6 win over Riverside on Monday, but couldn’t keep the momentum going.

Torrey Daniels and Chandler Ellis had two hits apiece against Riverside.

WC 17, Cathedral 7

Brooke Patterson went 4-for-5 with a double and six RBIs to help Warren Central (9-0) remain undefeated with a lopsided win over Cathedral.

Jordan Lee went 3-for-3 with a single, double, triple, two walks and two RBIs for the Lady Vikes.

Pitcher Darby Gain struck out four and walked two in a complete-game victory.
