Alvin “Elvin” Westcott

Alvin “Elvin” Westcott died Monday, March 24, 2014, at his home in Vicksburg. He was 61.

Born in Georgia, he lived most of his life in Vicksburg, and was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John B. “Red” Westcott and Mildred J. Westcott;  brother, James “Pete” Westcott and sister, Robbie Sitzman.

Survivors include his wife, Pat Westcott of Vicksburg; daughter, Malana Westcott of Vicksburg; two sons, Toby Westcott and Elvin Westcott, both of Vicksburg; two sisters, Myrtis Hamm and Bonnie Ford, both of Vicksburg; a brother, Eddie Westcott of Utica; and nine grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014, at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Joseph Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Phoenix.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Active pallbearers will be Steven Ford, William Breland, Buddy Wyatt, Stacy Hill, Jeremy Kirby, Heath Cannada, Ricky Martin and David White.

Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Westcott, Claude Bagby, Don Klemme, Tony Ford, Mike Smith, Thomas Knoblauch, Bryan Smith, Randall Smith, Johnny Hall, Jason Cummins, and the members of Plumber’s and Pipefitter’s Local 619.
