William M. “BB” Childs, III died Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at Covenant Health And Rehab in Vicksburg. He was 77.

Mr. Childs was a native and lifelong resident of Vicksburg. He worked for Smith Towing as a boat operator and mechanic for 35 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Morrison Childs Jr. and Lillie Mae Glidewell Childs, and a brother, Frank M. Childs Sr.

Survivors include a son, Billy Childs, of Morrillton, Ark.; two daughters, Becky Trezvant, also of Morrillton, Brenda Weaver, of Birmingham; a sister  Betty Brent, of Vicksburg, a brother, Harry Childs, Sr., of Vicksburg; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
