Henry Spencer Jr. died Thursday, March 27, 2014, in Vicksburg Convalescent Home following a lengthy illness. He was 85.

Mr. Spencer was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg.

He was preceded in death by a son, Henry Spencer III; a daughter, Mary Spencer Lee; his parents, Henry and Bertha Spence; a sister Vastie Ross; three brothers, Raymond Bolton, Albert Barnes and Jimmy Spencer.

Survivors include two sons, Johnny Wilson, of Riverdale, Ill., and Kenneth Spencer, of Los Angeles; five daughters, Elizabeth Spencer, Harpre and Judith Spence, both of Seaside, Calif., and Bertha Scott and Deloris Scott of Los Angeles; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and others, including Joyce Jones, Linda B. Wright and Ollie Harris of Vicksburg.

Memorial services are to be held today in the chapel of W.H. Jefferson
