Mose Allen Sr.

ROLLING FORK — Mose “Bilbo” Allen Sr. died Monday, March 31, 2014, at G.V. “Sonny” Montgomery Veterans Medical Center in Jackson. He was 91.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, receiving two Bronze Stars, the World War II Victory Medal, and the APTO Medal and Philippines Liberation Ribbon.

Survivors include 10 sons, James Allen, John Allen, Earnest Allen and Willie Allen, all of Glen Allen, Johnny Allen, Daries Allen, and Richard Allen, all of Greenville, Tommy Lee Allen of Pensacola, Fla., Roosevelt Allen of Tampa, Fla., and Lee Allen and Larry Allen, both of Junction City, Kan.; two daughters, Annie Allen of Glen Allen, and Mollie Allen of Greenville; 31 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2014, at Mount Lula M.B. Church in Rolling Fork with Pastor Larry White officiating. Burial will be at Jenkins Memorial Cemetery in Alps under the direction of Mitchell Walker Funeral Home of Rolling Fork.

Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
