Willie “Scooter” McCoy III died April 5, 2014, in a car accident. He was 25.

Mr. McCoy was a graduated of Vicksburg High School and was employed at Cappaert Manufacturing.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, John Elmore, and paternal grandparents Rebecca and Willie McCroy.

He is survived by his parents, Tommie Griffin and Willie McCroy Jr., both of Vicksburg; a brother, Antonio Griffin, of Vicksburg; a sister, Fermica Griffin Smith, of Vicksburg; two stepbrothers, Deon Davis of Miami and Patrick Webb of Vicksburg; a stepsister, Tiffany Thomas of Vicksburg and many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and other relatives and friends including the Conner and Davis families.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Greater Grove Street M.B. Church with the Rev. Johnny L. Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

A visitation will be held Friday, April 11, 2014, from 1 to 7 p.m. with a family hour from 6 to 7 p.m. at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.
