Warren Central volleyball tryouts

Tryouts for Warren Central High School’s girls volleyball will be May 7 and 9 in Gym A, beginning at 3 p.m. each day. Tryouts are for players in grades 9-12.

All players must sign up after school on May 1 or 2 in Gym A, from 2:35 to 3 p.m. to get the appropriate paperwork. Each player must also have a current physical form.

Vicksburg High basketball tryouts

Tryouts for Vicksburg High’s girls varsity basketball team will be held April 30-May 2, from 2:45 to 4 p.m. each day at the VHS gym. All players must have a current physical.

Warren Central boys soccer tryouts

Tryouts for Warren Central’s varsity boys soccer team will be held May 12 and 13, at 3 p.m. each day, on the front practice field along Mississippi 27. The tryouts are for players in grades 7-12. All participants must wear shin guards, and have a current physical and parental consent form.

All participants must sign up on the front soccer field on May 8 and 9, after school from 2:35 to 3 p.m. to get the appropriate paperwork.

Vicksburg High girls soccer tryouts

Tryouts for the 2014-15 Vicksburg High girls varsity soccer team will be held May 12 and 13 at Memorial Stadium.

Tryouts for players in seventh and eighth grades will be May 12 at 3:30 p.m. Tryouts for players in grades 9-12 will be May 13 at 3:30 p.m.

Mississippi State Road Dawgs Tour

The Mississippi State Road Dawgs Tour, which offers fans an opportunity to meet the university’s athletic department officials, will make a stop at the Vicksburg Convention Center on May 6, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will feature head football coach Dan Mullen. Tickets are $10 per person, and include a buffet lunch.

Hinds CC soccer camp

Hinds Community College will host its annual youth soccer camp June 2-6 on the Raymond campus. The camp is for boys and girls ages 7-14. It will run from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day.

Instructors for the camp include Hinds men’s coach Doug Williams and women’s coach Marcille McLendon, along with assistant coaches Brandon Mitchell and Amanda Smith, and former Hinds players.

The cost of the camp is $150 if registered before May 15, and $175 after that date.

Atlanta Braves tryout camp

The Atlanta Braves will host their annual tryout camp June 11 at Trustmark Park. The camp is for players ages 16-22. Registration starts at 9 a.m. and tryouts at 10.

The tryouts are free. Players should bring their own cleats and gloves.
