As time approaches for Redwood Elementary’s musical, Music teacher and director Wyn Pratt can see the excitement in the kids’ eyes.

“The kids cannot wait to perform. They are working very hard and are eager to show their parents what they can do,” said Pratt.

The first-grade class at Redwood Elementary will be performing the musical “A World of Music,” at the school on Tuesday. The musical, Pratt said,  will show the audience how music is a universal language and its power to unite people across the universe.

The production will highlight the musical traditions of countries ranging from France, Italy and Ireland to China, Israel, Mexico and Guiana.

Pratt said that this exposure is good for teaching the kids about the power of music and how to perform for a crowd.

“This is a wonderful learning opportunity for the children. They will get to learn about different countries and the music that they listen to,” said Pratt.
