Family members of Pete J. Nosser and members of the Army-Navy Club of Vicksburg say the pledge of allegiance Wednesday while an American flag they donated is raised atop the old U.S. 80 bridge in honor of Nosser, a staff sergeant and code clerk in the 513th Airborne Signal Company during World War II. Nosser decoded the field document announcing Germany’s surrender ending the war in Europe.
