Warren Central volleyball tryouts

Tryouts for Warren Central High School’s girls volleyball will be Wednesday and Thursday in Gym A, beginning at 3 p.m. each day. Tryouts are for players in grades 9-12.

All players must sign up after school in Gym A, from 2:35 to 3 p.m. to get the appropriate paperwork. Each player must also have a current physical form.

Warren Central boys soccer tryouts

Tryouts for Warren Central’s varsity boys soccer team will be held May 12 and 13, at 3 p.m. each day, on the front practice field along Mississippi 27. The tryouts are for players in grades 7-12. All participants must wear shin guards, and have a current physical and parental consent form.

All participants must sign up on the front soccer field on Thursday and Friday, after school from 2:35 ot 3 p.m. to get the appropriate paperwork.

Warren Central baseball tryouts

Tryouts for Warren Central’s varsity baseball team will be held May 19 and 20, from 3 to 5:30 p.m. each day. The tryouts are for players in grades 8-12. A current physical is required, and all players must be enrolled in the school system and bring their own glove and cleats. For more information, call WC coach Conner Douglas at 601-631-2939.

Vicksburg High girls soccer tryouts

Tryouts for the 2014-15 Vicksburg High girls varsity soccer team will be held May 12 and 13 at Memorial Stadium.

Tryouts for players in seventh and eighth grades will be May 12 at 3:30 p.m. Tryouts for players in grades 9-12 will be May 13 at 3:30 p.m.

All athletes must have a current physical, and bring shin guards and cleats. Players must also sign up at the girls field house each day of the tryouts.

“Fuzzy” Johnson baseball sign-up

Registration for the James “Fuzzy” Johnson youth baseball league will continue throughout May. Registration will be conducted each Saturday at Fuzzy Johnson Field on Mission 66. Registration forms are also available at the field or the Jackson Street Community Center.

Mississippi State Road Dawgs Tour

The Mississippi State Road Dawgs Tour, which offers fans an opportunity to meet the university’s athletic department officials, will make a stop at the Vicksburg Convention Center on Tuesday, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will feature football coach Dan Mullen. Tickets are $10 per person, and include lunch.
