PORT GIBSON — Greta A. Scott died Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. She was 55.
She was a member of Greenleaf Baptist Church and played the piano at numerous churches. She was also a member of the Baptist Aid.
She was preceded in death by her son, Alyosha Scott; parents, Elmer and Verlen McPherson-Scott; and a brother, James L. Scott.
Survivors include four brothers, Elmer Scott Jr. of Kansas City, Mo., Larnell Scott and Larry Scott, both of Chicago, and Reggie Scott of Lorman; two sisters, Gwendolyn Strong of South Haven, and Sheila Ballard of Vicksburg; two aunts and nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2014, at Greenleaf Baptist Church in Harriston with the Rev. Leon Nelson officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home Inc. of Port Gibson.
Visitation will be today from 1 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home, and Saturday at the church from 10a.m. until the service.
