A Vicksburg man was injured Sunday morning after the car he was driving struck a tree.

At 2:30 a.m., Melvin Wiggins, 20, who lives on Windy Lake Circle, was traveling on Fisher Ferry Road when he lost control of his 1999 Mazda and hit a tree, said Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace.

Pace said that Wiggins was air lifted to University Medical Center in Jackson.

No information on Wiggins’ condition was available this morning.
