Leon Harris died Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at Covenant Health & Rehab Center. He was 50.

He attended Vicksburg Public Schools.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leo Harris Sr.; his paternal grandmother, Alberta Marshall; and maternal grandparents, Henry and Montana Mosley Butler.

Survivors include his mother, Gladys M. Butler of Vicksburg; four brothers, Robert Butler and Leo Harris Jr., both of Vicksburg, Terrell Butler of Detroit and John Harris of Leakesville; four sisters, Alma Butler Amos and Leola Harris, both of Vicksburg, Patricia Thomas of Memphis, Tenn., and Catherine Cowan of Yazoo City; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends, including members of the Younger, Winters , Williams, Carson, Miller , Chamberlain and Mosley families of Vicksburg.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Sunday, May 18, 2014, at W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home.
