Gail Marie Smith passed away Friday, May 16, 2014, at her home in Vicksburg. She was 58.
Born in Detroit on Oct. 24, 1955, to Lewis Lawrence Taber and Mary Kerr Taber, she had lived in Vicksburg since 1976.
She loved all animals.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Taber.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Smith, who loved her very much; a daughter, Karen Carpenter of Tupelo; two brothers, Steve Taber of Ohio, and Mark Taber (Chris) of Michigan; four sisters, Linda Marple of Arizona, Sharon Dotson of Ohio, Karen Boase (Jim) of Michigan, and Michelle Taber of Michigan; three brothers-in-law, Thomas Knoblauch (Susie) of New Orleans, Brian Smith (Annette) of McComb, and Randal Smith (Karen) of Gretna, La.; one sister-in-law, Pat Westcott of Vicksburg; and nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 2014, at the Vicksburg Vineyard Church with the Rev. Joseph Johnson officiating.
The visitation will be at the church from 2 p.m. until the hour of the service.
