John William Dobbins

John William “Johnny” Dobbins passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014, at his home. He was 72.

He was born May 16, 1942, to Judson Foy Dobbins and Mamie Louise Pittus Dobbins in Geyer Spring, Ark., and graduated from Pine Bluff High School. He was retired from International Paper after 41 years of service.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Liz” Dobbins; two daughters, Diana Denise Boston of Vicksburg, and Debra Dobbins Bailey of Brandon; a sister, June Wheeler of Pine Bluff, Ark.; two brothers, Alvin Dobbins of Sheridon, Ark., and Jimmy Dobbins of Speedwell, Tenn.; two grandsons, David LeRoy “Buster” Boston of Tangipahoa, La., and Brandon John Boston of Metairie, La.; a granddaughter, Alicia Lynn Smith of Natchez; and two great-granddaughters, Madison Elizabeth Smith of Natchez and Mylah Renee Boston of Metairie, La.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2014, at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Gene Jacks officiating. Visitation will be at Glenwood Funeral Home from noon until the hour of the service.  Pallbearers will be Alicia Lynn Smith, Robert Bailey, Brandon Boston, Terry Folden, Leon Wilson, and Johnny Griffin.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Chester, Ricky Rowland, and Larry Allen.
