Gladys B. McGowan died Saturday, May 31, 20014, at her home. She was 94.

She was born in Vidalia, La., and was retired from the Maxwell’s Motel. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cage McGowan; her parents, John and Mamie Bradford; sister, Thelma Caldwell; and brother Jesse Simmons

Survivors include her son, Lawrence McGowan of Vicksburg; daughter, Lorraine McGowan of Vicksburg; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and others relatives and friends, including members of the Barrett, Caldwell, Brown and Bingham families of Vicksburg.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 6, 2014, at W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas Benard officiating. Burial will follow at Zollinger Cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
