P.J. Gipson

ANGUILLA — P.J. “Coon-Bro” Gipson died Friday, May 30, 2014, at Sharkey-Issaquena Hospital in Rolling Fork. He was 86.

Mr. Gipson was born May 8, 1928, in Ringo, La.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Saintell Gibson and Deseree Moore Gipson.

Survivors include his wife, Flora B. Gipson of Anguilla; four sons, P.J. Gipson of Mayersville, Charles Ray Gipson of Atlanta, Ronnie L. Gipson of Byram and Clyde Collins of Grand Rapids, Mich.; six daughters, Aloise Lane of Rolling Fork, Dorothy Ann Gipson and Dyone Carter, both of Anguilla, Sandra Lufay Gipson of Mansfield, Texas, Brenda Flowers of Columbus, Ga., and Laura Ann Smith of Gary, Ind.; 51 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchilden.

Services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Rose Hill M.B. Church in Anguilla with Pastor James Grey Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Anguilla Cemetery under the direction of Mitchell L. Walker Funeral Home of Rolling Fork.

Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
