Eunice Sheffield Phillips died Friday, June 6, 2014, at Covenant Health and Rehab. She was 103. Born in Sunflower County, she was the daughter of the late Jessie Everett Sheffield and Sallie Ann Nerren Sheffield. Mrs. Phillips was a member of the Church of the Nazarene for over 70 years where she enjoyed working with children.
She is survived by three grandchildren, Cecil Woods, Ross Woods and Carol Ann Roberts; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson and a sister, Delores Bain.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Phillips was predeceased by her husband, William Barney Phillips; seven sisters and nine brothers.
Services will at 2 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2014, at the First Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Kurhman Cox officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Riles Funeral Home. A visitation will be Monday at the First Church of the Nazarene from noon until the hour of the service. Pallbearers will be members of the Church Board. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Sheffield, Carolyn Leist, Dorothy Matthews, Sally McDaniel, Suzanne Heggins and Tammy Allement.
