M-Braves stumble against Lookouts

PEARL — The Mississippi Braves’ playoff hopes took a big hit Monday night against Chattanooga.

Daniel Mayora singled in a run in the fourth inning, then scored on a double by Chris O’Brien as the Lookouts beat the M-Braves 2-1 in the finale of a five-game series at Trustmark Park.

The loss dropped the M-Braves (37-27) two games behind Mobile in the Southern League South Division with five to play. Mobile (39-25) split a doubleheader with Huntsville on Monday.

The M-Braves are off today, then finish the first half of the season with a five-game series at Tennessee beginning Wednesday night.
