While investigating the incident, deputies found Sanders had a small amount of an unnamed drug and arrested him.

During a follow-up investigation, the deputies, who knew Sanders was a convicted felon, learned about the gun and got a search warrant from Justice Judge James Jefferson. They found a Charter Arms .38-caliber revolver in the trailer and arrested Sanders.
