Betty Carolyn Newman Easterling died Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at her home. She was 76.

Born in Carpenter, she was the daughter of the late Duane E. Newman and Evelyn A. Newman Turnage, and was a graduate of Utica High School in the class of 1955. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, and an active member of the Oakland Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, T. D. Easterling; son, Terry D. Easterling (Bethany); grandsons, Tyler Easterling and Colten Easterling, all of Vicksburg; three brothers, Billy Dane Newman, Lawrence A. Newman and Donald R. Newman, all of Utica.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Robert Wayne Newman.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Riles Funeral Home with the Rev. Justin Rhodes officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
