Clara Christine Smith Cobb died Sunday, June 22, 2014, at Promise Hospital in Vicksburg. She was 84.

Born in Huntsville, Ala., she was reared in Fayette County, Ala.

She was active in the Freewill Baptist Church, where she played piano and was active in the church ladies auxillary.

A minister’s wife, she lived in many areas of the South, and for the past 15 years made her home in Port Gibson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Jackson Malone Cobb, and two brothers, Joe Smith and Charles Smith.

Survivors include her sons, William Chad Cobb of Vicksburg, and Albert Cobb of North Carolina; her sister, Martha Stough of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg has charge of arrangements.
