George L. Tzotzolas

George L. Tzotzolas died Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at River Region Medical Center.  He was 83.

George was born June 16, 1931, in Greece and served in the Greek Air Force.

In 1959 at the age of 28, he settled in Vicksburg where he became owner of the Vicksburg Cafe.  He later established F & G Liquor Store and continued to work in partnership with his son at F & G Beverages Inc. until his death. He was a faithful member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church.

He is survived by Irene, his wife of 47 years; two sons, Laskaris (Lori) and Stavros (Ginny); three grandchildren, George, Alexandra and Morgan; and relatives in Greece.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and brother.

Visitation will be Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Riles Funeral Home with Trisagion prayers at 6:30, and Monday at 10 a.m. at St. George. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with the Very Rev. John Morris of St. George and the Very Rev. Paul Yerger of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church in Clinton officiating.

Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Ken Grogan, Buddy Hanks, Woody Hanks, Chuck Odom, Ron Perkins, Gary Thomas, George Tzotzolas II and Dr. Constantine Zouboukos.

Honorary pallbearers are Dr. George Abraham, David Blackledge, Todd Boolos, Dr. Anthony Daniels, Jim Dantin, Chris Gouras, Dr. David Halinski, Rusty Larsen, Peter Mims, George Nasif, Dr. Paul Pierce IV, Greg Thomas, and employees of F & G Beverages, Inc.
