Carter David Sessums

Carter David Sessums passed away July 2, 2014, in Oxford.
Visitation will be 2 p.m. Saturday followed by a celebration of his life at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton. Burial will be at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Carter was born Nov. 16, 1984, to Dr. and Mrs. Hildon H. Sessums Jr. in Vicksburg, where he attended St Aloysius High School. He enjoyed playing baseball and football. He never failed to cheer for the Ole Miss Rebels and the New Orleans Saints.
He was a member of Crawford Street United Methodist Church in Vicksburg, where he stayed active in the youth group growing up. When Carter wasn’t in school he spent a lot of time fishing, working, and hunting at the family farm in Raymond.
Carter’s whole heart belonged to his son Wyatt, whom he loved dearly. He was charismatic and lived life to the fullest.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Hildon Howard Sessums, Jr.; his maternal grandfather, John W. Carter of Greenwood; paternal grandmother, Marion Morrison Sessums of Clinton and a first cousin, John Carter McKie of Jackson.
He is survived by his mother, Lisa Carter Sessums of Greenwood; his son, Wyatt David Sessums of Vicksburg; two brothers, Hildon Howard Sessums III and his wife Courtney of Oxford, and Robert Anthony Sessums of Oxford; his maternal grandmother, Ruth Linn Carter of Greenwood; his paternal grandfather, Hildon Howard Sessums Sr. of Hattiesburg; and three aunts, Ruth Carter McKie of Jackson; Jeffie Carter Kent of Greenwood; and Dr. Marion Catherine Sessums of Hattiesburg.
He was loved dearly and will be missed by many.
