Eli Michael Baker

Graveside services for Eli Michael Baker will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2014, at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday at the funeral home from 1 until 6 p.m.

Mr. Baker died Sunday, July 6, 2014, at Cornerstone Hospital in West Monroe, La. He was 79.

He was retired from Hughes Aircraft Corporation as a quality control inspector and co-owned of E&S Video and Baker, Baker, & Baker Maintenance Services, both in Compton, Calif. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served in the Korean Conflict, and was also a founding charter member of Faith Inspirational Baptist Church of Compton.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Mary Ann Baker and Vera Ruth Baker; his parents, Ephraim Baker Sr. and Viola Johnson Baker; two brothers, and three sisters.

Survivors include two sons, Jermaine Baker of Oakland, Calif., and Roderick Rideau of Dayton, Ohio; two daughters, Margot V. Baker and Marva Y. Muhammad both of Monroe; 10 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends, including the Willis and Dent families of Vicksburg and the McClinton family of Monroe.
