Elizabeth Montgomery Clarke, 95, of Vicksburg died Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at her home.
Mrs. Clarke was born on Jan. 2, 1919, and was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg. She was the daughter of William Jerome and Iola Fife Montgomery. She received degrees from All Saints College, Belhaven College, and Columbia University. Mrs. Clarke taught school for 30 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth Marie “Betzebe” Clarke of Vicksburg; sister, Peggy Montgomery Wood; cousins, Montgomery Jackson and C.L. Jackson; nieces, Beth Morgan, Cherry Wood, Carolyn DeLeo, Joy Phillips, Marjorie Kinnebrew; nephew, Robert Wood; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Cherry Clarke; mother, Iola Fife Montgomery; father, William Jerome Montgomery, and sister/cousin, Beth McMullin King.
Services are 11 a.m. today, July 12, 2014, at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Tim Brown officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation is today from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service in Ward Hall at First Presbyterian Church.
Pallbearers are Ken Klaus, Don Miller, Harold Blue, Ken Halford, Don Collins, Chandler Bonelli, John Paris, Paul Different and Randall Dillon.
