LORMAN — Carl Edward Archer died Thursday, July 10, 2014, in South Holland, Ill. He was 67.

Mr. Archer was preceded in death by his parents, George Warner and Mable Archer.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Banks Archer of South Holland; two sons, Carl D. Archer of Hammond, Ind., and Edward Earl Reed of Natchez; three brothers, Wilbert E. Archer of Port Gibson, Willie Alfred Archer of Chicago, and William Warner of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, Lillie Ruth Holt of Vero Beach, Fla., and Cynthia Warner of Port Gibson; two uncles; three grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Services will be noon Saturday, July 19, 2014, at Morningstar M.B. Church in Lorman, with the Rev. Larry Clark officiating. Burial will be at McCaa Cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home Inc. of Port Gibson.

Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home, and Saturday at the church from 11 a.m. until the service.
