Ronald Glen Cocilova

Ronald Glen Cocilova died Monday, July 14, 2014, at his home in Vicksburg. He was 44.

Born on Oct. 12, 1969, he was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg.  He graduated from St. Aloysius in 1987 before attending Hinds Community College, and served in the U.S. Army from 1990-1996.

After his service, he worked for his father at Nick’s Custom Meats from 1996-2000 and continued working there after it became Dave’s Custom Meats. He owned his own lawn service and was known around Vicksburg as “The Grassman.”

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe and Emma Cocilova, and Charles and Annie Freeman.

Survivors include his parents, Dominic “Nick” Cocilova and Norma Freeman Cocilova; his daughter, Megan Cocilova; girlfriend, Michelle Brown Mullen; uncles, aunts and cousins.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 17, 2014, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with Father P.J. Curley officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Gardens.

Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of the service.

The family asks that donations be made to the St.Michael’s Church Building Fund, Vicksburg Animal League or the Wounded Warrior Program.
