Linnie D. Freeman

PORT GIBSON — Linnie D. Freeman died Sunday, July 20, 2014, at St. Dominic Memorial Hospital in Jackson. She was 85.

Mrs. Freeman was a member of Christian Chapel Church.  She taught in the Chicago Public School District for many years, and was an accomplished classically trained pianist.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Orbie Freeman, and her parents, E.C. Welch and Rosa Page Welch.

Survivors include a son, Dr. Marc Freeman of McComb; two daughters, Brenda Fuller of Chicago, and Jan Johnson of Springfield, Ill.; a brother, Gale Page of Chicago; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a nephew; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2014, at Christian Chapel Church in Port Gibson. Burial will be at the Goins Family Cemetery in Hermanville, under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home Inc. of Port Gibson.

Visitation will be Friday from 1p.m. to 6 p.m. at the funeral home, and at the church from 1p.m. until the service time.
