Three held in shooting

Three Vicksburg men involved in a shooting on the Fourth of July were held without bail this morning, Vicksburg police Lt. Troy Kimble said.
Chauncey Rankin, 24, 2991 North Washington St., was arrested Saturday and charged with aggravated assault, six counts of shooting into an occupied dwelling and two counts of shooting into a vehicle, Kimble said.
On Friday, Deandre Royal, 31, 1514 Ethel St., and Dominic Turner, 24, 1403 Greenfield Drive, were arrested at Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and First North Street on a warrant for five counts of shooting into a dwelling and two counts of shooting into a vehicle, Kimble said.
They are accused of a shooting at 4:30 a.m. July Fourth near the intersection of Mississippi 27 and Clay Street, just inside the city limits, Kimble said. The shooting injured one woman, he said.
All three men were held without bail this morning in the Issaquena County Correctional Facility awaiting their initial court appearances.
Man held for statutory rape
A Warren County man accused of having sex with a teenager was held without bail this morning.
Randy Allen Harris, 24, 3400 U.S. 80, Lot A, was arrested at a home in the 100 block of Ellison Road, Saturday and charged with statutory rape, Sheriff Martin Pace said.
The parent of the teen, who is between 14 and 16, called the sheriff’s office to report the rape Friday, Pace said.
Harris was held without bail this morning in the Warren County Jail awaiting his initial court appearance.
Stereo, part missing
An auto part and car stereo were missing this morning following a burglary reported Friday on U.S. 61 North.
At 5:10 p.m. Friday, a CV axel and a CD player/stereo were reports missing from a 1991 Chevrolet truck in the 800 block of U.S. 61 North, according to Warren County sheriff’s records.
