Panhandler arrested for stolen bike

A Texas man accused of having a stolen motorcycle was in the Warren County Jail this morning.

Jeremy Todd Herring, 38, of Austin, Texas, was arrested at 7:30 a.m. Monday at Kangaroo Express, 3400 Halls Ferry Road and charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, Vicksburg police Lt. Troy Kimble said.

Herring was arrested after employees of the gas station reported he was panhandling and harassing customers and police discovered the 2004 Yamaha motorcycle he was sitting on was reported stolen in Texas, Kimble said.

Herring was held in the Warren County Jail this morning in lieu of $35,000 bail.

 

Camaro taken from lot

A new Chevrolet Camaro was missing this morning after being reported stolen from a dealership Monday.

At 9:45 a.m. Monday, a silver 2014 Camaro valued at $42,000 was reported stolen from Atwood Chevrolet, 2339 N. Frontage Road, Vicksburg police Lt. Troy Kimble said.

 

Equipment missing from construction site

A piece of equipment was missing this morning from the construction site of a new pharmacy.

At 12:44 p.m. Monday, an orange and gray MTX70 dirt packer valued at $2,300 was reported stolen from 1435 N. Frontage Road where a new CVS pharmacy is being constructed, Vicksburg police Lt. Troy Kimble said.

The piece of equipment is valued at $2,300.

The company has said the pharmacy will open in January.

 

Glasses, wallet missing

Sunglasses, a wallet and a checkbook were missing following three auto burglaries reported this morning on Warriors Trail.

At 5:47 a.m., a pair of Costa sunglasses valued at $300, and an Ole Miss wallet were reported missing from a 1989 Toyota truck in the 7400 block of Warriors Trail, according to Warren County sheriff’s records.

A 2006 GMC truck was also entered, but nothing was reported stolen.

At the same time, a checkbook was reported stolen from a 2008 Mazda Tribute in the 7300 block of Warriors Trail, records indicate.

 

Rankin man held for warrant

A Rankin County man accused of stealing a vehicle was in the Warren County Jail this morning.

Michael Wagner, 152 Lou Ann St., Florence, was arrested at about 8 a.m. today on a warrant for auto theft, according to Warren County Jail records.

He was awaiting transfer to the Rankin County Jail this morning.
